The Ghost of Tantallon Castle

An eerie image of a figure in period costume has spooked experts investigating apparent photographic evidence of ghosts.
The picture, taken in May 2008, appears to show a man or woman in a ruff peering out of a barred window at Tantallon Castle. No mannequins or costumed guides are employed at the castle, and three photographic experts have confirmed that no digital trickery was used on the photo. Even confirmed ghost skeptic Professor Richard Wiseman, who led the study, admitted being puzzled. "It is certainly very curious," he said. "We ran it by three photographic experts and they said it hadn't been Photoshopped at all. "The figure appears to be in period costume, but we know 100% that Tantallon Castle is not the sort of place that has dummies or costumed guides - they just don't go in for that sort of thing." Tantallon Castle, a ruined fortress dating back to the 14th Century, stands on a remote rocky headland near North Berwick on the Scottish east coast. It was badly damaged in an attack by Oliver Cromwell's forces in 1651. Christopher Aitchison, who took the photo, said: "I was not aware of anyone, or anything, being present in my picture, only noticing the anomaly when I got home. "Staff have verified that there were no sinister dummies in period costume or historical re-enactments going on that day at the castle. "I did not notice any nice old ladies wearing ruffs walking around the stairs! Some people have suggested its just light reflecting on rocks and one person suggested it may be King James V of Scotland."

Accident Spirit

Written by: Jim Eaton
When I first viewed this photo back in 1999, I was sure the driver had died and was now standing beside the car as a ghost. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was completely wrong. The driver, Rose Benvenuto had swerved to avoid hitting a dog and wrecked her car. According to the report, she was taken to the hospital but later released with only an arm injury.
The photographer, Sharon Boo, from the Pawling Fire Department, in New York State, took several pictures. Photos were taken from all angles as a service that Sharon provided for the fire department. However, only one picture happened to capture this strange figure. The image is in human form and size and appears to have wings. It's reported that Rose felt confident that the image in the picture was that of an angel. Or more to the point, a protective spirit that spared Rose from serious if not fatal consequences. The car was totaled and anyone seeing the wreckage would assume the worst.
On a side note, I (Jim Eaton) thought it was a strange coincidence that the photographers name happened to be 'Boo'. So I did some research and found Sharon Boo, and sure enough, that really is her name! We conversed on the phone and she assured me that this was a true event and that the photograph and negative do exist. She also agreed to send me the negatives for examination, which I received. I had copies made from the negatives and sure enough, the image is on the negative and did show up in the developed photos! I actually had Wal-Mart develop the photos from the negatives and they did it within one hour.
When I came back to pick up the photos and negatives, It was like a circus side-show. The Technician pulled out the picture in front of the crowd and exclaimed, yes, this is truly an authentic spirit capture. Well, that did it, by then everyone there wanted a close look at the developed picture. The photo technician once again assured the onlookers that it was a spirit because she had personally developed the photo and she was quick to state her credentials. The crowd then looked to me for my interpretation and I simply stated my thoughts as this... I hadn't ruled out all possibilities but it did indeed look to be an unmistakable image of what could be considered a spirit standing just to the right front side of the wrecked car. I then left the store and made sure I was not followed.
When Sharon Boo originally submitted her roll of film (negatives) to a photo technician for developing, she never intended them to end up on the web. She suspects the developer kept a copy of the picture and thus distributed the photo on the web with the story Sharon had shared with him. And I Jim of Ghoststudy, suspect that the photo technician at Wal-Mart might have done the same thing, but I surely hope that's not the case.

I wasn't able to take multiple pictures of him, but for a good 5 minutes or so, he stayed at this position the whole time. Never moved. *Jim's note: he never moved for 5 minutes because the cam only refreshing every 10 min. at that time of day.* Then he disappeared. I have seen similar pics of this little boy doing other things (i.e. crawling on the floor) in other ghostly web sites, and realized that what I had captured confirmed i

Old Man in a TV Set

Becky writes, "It has been a long time since I submitted anything and I am doing so now because I need feedback. So please feel free to put my photo up on the photo page. Now this photo was of a little guy I baby-sit dancing in the room with his homemade hat. In fact (and I know I have cut that part out but felt I had to because of the child) the child is to the right of the TV---to the left if you are looking at the photo dead on. Look at the television screen. There is a man--full face, in a suit and tie--VERY UP CLOSE to the screen staring out as if he was trying to watch this little boy. OK now what was on the television at that time---I went through my other photos and I had taken them pretty much one right after the other and it was showing in one photo at greater distance (not up close and personal like this man) a court scene. I was watching a court TV show. If you notice surrounding this man there is nothing. No background if it was a commercial---just white. Look at the angle this man is in. It is like he is coming from stage right or left however you feel----from the side. It really boggled me because he was just so IN the SCREEN. No one else around, no background and he looks like he is watching. I have never gotten a photo like this maybe because I am a bad ghost hunter and have never really looked before. My house is haunted (nothing major) by an elderly man that smokes cigars and pipes. SO what do YOU all think? Am I crazy??? (oh and I tried turning the photo on its side and I swear it looks like the man is in his coffin)"

Apparitions in a Hanuted Hotel

The place is haunted and many guests would talk of seeing apparitions of a small girl and an older man. The photographer that took this picture stayed the night in the hotel hoping to capture something on film. When developing his photos in the lab the next day, this one stood out amongst the negatives. He quickly developed it to discover (to his amazement) this stunning ghost picture! Photo was taken with 200iso speed Kodak TMax film B&W. This photo has appeared on “A Current Affair” as well as other media sources since 1998."

Someone said that you might be interested in seeing it. This is taken at Jemzi Old Hotel cam. At the time I was watching the cam and I could see the owner which is the lady in the pic and her son in the room. After I caught this, I asked her when she came onto the site, which was 15 minutes later and she said that they were both in the bedroom the whole time and she was dressing him and getting ready for bed. The only occupants of the place are Jemzi, her 2 year old son and her partner that was asleep at the time."
